The Australia and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society Clinical Bone Densitometry Course is being held in Wellington 20-22 May, relocating from Christchurch following the devastating earthquake.
Participants come from a variety of backgrounds - physicians, densitometry providers, bone density technicians and those interested in the diagnosis of Osteoporosis.
The ANZBMS Densitometry Course aims to train you in all aspects of densitometry - including safety, technical, scientific, statistical, Quality Assurance and organisational issues– to international best practice standards. It is an accredited course, providing those already employed in the bone densitometry field with a recognised qualification. Not only will you be challenged, you’ll earn an accredited qualification that is recognised throughout Australasia, together with a real sense of achievement on completing the course.
The programme is delivered by New Zealand and Australian clinicians and physicians, including:
- Dr Andrew Grey is Associate Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology at Auckland Medical School and a prominent figure in international bone research.
- Dr Mike Nowitz is Senior Lecturer in Radiology, Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences and a Radiologist at Pacific Radiology.
- Dr Michael Rutland, Nuclear Medicine Specialist Physician. Radiology / Nuclear Medicine, Auckland City Hospital.
- Chris Schultz , Nuclear Medicine and Bone Densitometry, Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia.
- Louise Buckley, Practice Manager and radiographer, Medex Radiology, Tauranga.
- and New Zealand DEXA technicians from around the country will facilitate the workshops.
This training opportunity is available only once every two years. It is a time for you to invest in your ongoing professional development, to reinforce existing knowledge, be updated on the latest advances and network with your colleagues from around the country.
